Located in sylvan souroundingsonterracedhill slope isKendriya Vidyalaya Malappuram,the only school in the District under Kendriya Vidyalaya sangathan, an autonomous body under the union Ministry ofHumanResources Development. We are a co educational secular school, affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi.It is a civil sector schoolwith the Dist. Collector as the vidyalaya Management Comm-ittee Chairman. It caters to the children of Def-ense Personnel, the R.A.F Unit in kottakal,the transferable employees ofother Central and State Govt. offices and also to the general public.

Kendriya VidyalayaMalappuramhada strength of 300 students, six teachers and two officestaff to begin with in 1986. It started functioningin a rented building in Kottapady Malappuram. The first block of its own building was ready in 1989 and two more blocks – the primary blockand thelaboratories were added later. Being on the slopes of a hill its unique feature is that every floor opens to the ground at different levels. The commerce streamwas addedin the academicyear 2005-06. The Vidyalaya now offersComputer Science and Informatics Practice also as optionalsubjects. Itnowboasts of1071 studentsanda staff strength of46.

Since its inception the Vidyalaya has achieved great heights inacademic and non academic activiti-es. A set of learnedand dedicatedteachers and the hardworkingstudentstogetherunder the able leade-rshipofSmtPushpa Mohan have achieved excellent resultscontinuously for the past six years in CBSE X and XII exams both qualitatively and quantita-tively andhave reachedthe top position in Malappuram District.

 A Public Relation Cell has been set up in KVS(HQ).Visiting time to submit the queries are from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon and the status/reply will be handed over on the same day 4 - 5 pm. No visitors will be allowed to meet any other officers of KVS(HQ) unless felt extremely necessary
